How to Remove Bed Bugs From Your Home
A bed bug is a wingless insect which feeds on the blood of warm-blooded animals especially human beings. All bed bugs do not have the same color, but they have dark reddish after they feed on the blood of a person. The specific places where bed bugs are found include sofas, beds and other soft furnishings. Bed bugs love , and so they feed on people’s blood mostly at night. Bed bugs feed on people’s blood when they are asleep. Nowadays, bed bugs have become common both in public and private sheltering places. You need to get rid of bed bugs whenever you notice that they are in your home. Below are some of the ways of removing bed bugs from your home.
Remove clutters from your room and clean the infested garments and linens. Bed bugs hide in different places therefore, they can also be found in items found in a room infested with bed bugs. Remove all the personal items including blankets, electronics, and toys from the room. Bed linen and infested garments should also be removed from the room. Hot water should be used to wash the blankets, bed linens and any other garments in order to kill any available bed bugs. However, when removing the clutter and the garments, you need to be careful to avoid transferring the bed bugs to other places.
Dismantling of bed frames and dresser drawers is necessary whenever you are getting rid of bed bugs. Bed bugs use cracks on different pieces of furniture as their hiding place. When you dismantle bed frames and dresser drawers, the bed bugs will be exposed. Look for any available bed bugs there and kill them using an insecticide or very hot water. Throrugh cleaning should be done to dresser drawers and bed frames to ensure that there is no bed bug which is left. Any bed fabric should be removed and cleaned using hot water. Covering the mattress prevents bed bugs from entering or leaving the mattress. The dresser drawers should be pulled away from the walls to expose any bed bugs.
The infested area should be cleaned. Clean the area using a stiff brush. When such a brush is used, all the bed bugs’ eggs will be dislodged. A vacuum cleaner should be used during the cleaning especially on the cracks and crevices of the furniture. A vacuum cleaner removes all the particles in the crevices and cracks, and hence an insecticide will be effectively sprayed on those areas. Any bed bugs available in the room will also be pulled by the vacuum cleaner.
You need to spray the room and furniture using an insecticide. Any bed bugs left in the room or furniture will be killed by the insecticide. The insecticides to be used should be in liquid form. One can get rid of bed bugs by following the steps mentioned above.
